The "Floroscan" models retained excellent built quality with new VFD (vacuum fluorescent display) hidden behind a blue color filter. The result is a cool design that is visually appealing and sonically impressive. The real wood case on this Pioneer is stunning. The end grain on the front is capped with 1 8" veneer, and the top veneer is also 1 8" thick. This is much higher quality
