Outback Jasper Slab Kaily agate specimen amethyst (purple quartz)This material comes from western Australia, near Paynes Find, a former gold rush settlement. It was inadvertently discovered within chert formations by gold prospectors, who were in the area on a search at the time they found it. It displays dark, painterly strokes amidst an array of pastel colors, all encased within a deep ochre base. Somewhat reminiscent of butterfly wings. This is a rough, unpolished slab.
